Elizabeth Willcocks

More about Elizabeth
Elizabeth graduated from The Royal Veterinary College, London having previously obtained an Honours degree in Agriculture with basic Medical Science from Imperial College at Wye.
She joined GKG Vets shortly after graduating becoming a partner in 2005.
Elizabeth obtained her Certificate in Veterinary Business Management from the University of Liverpool in 2017. She enjoys all aspect of clinical practice but takes a special interest in cardiology (the treatment of heart disease) and soft tissue surgery.
Elizabeth lives in Newbury with her daughter, two cats and her cockerpoo.
She is the practice clinical coach.

Karoline Dronnen
Veterinary Surgeon BVSc MRCVS

Karoline is one of our Veterinary Surgeons and has been here since October 2018. She qualified from Bristol University in July 2018, after moving to the UK from Norway to study.
She enjoys seeing all of the animals who come in to the surgery every day and being able to build a bond with them and their owners. However, she mostly enjoys being able to help the pets on their roads to recovery.
Karoline currently lives in Newbury with her two flatmates and their cat, Monty. Monty is super chilled and very laid back but he looks constantly unimpressed! He’s a very good hunter and treats his owners with lots of presents to prove it!
In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball and she also loves to travel.

Stuart Davenport

Stuart was brought up on a working mixed farm before going to Edinburgh University to study Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with distinction.
He worked for several years in North Hertfordshire, before becoming Head Vet at a practice in Goring-on-Thames. He moved to GKG Vets in 2013, becoming a partner with Elizabeth in 2016.
Stuart enjoys the challenges of general practice, but takes a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and internal medicine. He also undertakes some of the practice’s orthopaedic work.
Stuart lives nearby with his wife – also a qualified Vet – and their ginger cat and a miniature dachshund. In his spare time he enjoys travel, cricket and is involved with his local community, previously as a district councillor.

Laura Buckberry-Biran
More about Laura
Laura graduated from Nottingham University’s Veterinary School in 2011 as part of the first year through the new degree. Her first job was in a large veterinary practice in Derby. She has worked for GKG Vets since December 2014.
Laura enjoys all aspects of veterinary work, but takes a special interest in dentistry. She lives in Newbury with her husband, who has recently started studying for a veterinary nursing degree.
She has a cat of her own and has recently taken on two naughty kittens for company. She amuses herself in her free time with games of various types and Asian media.

Melissa Horne
Registered Veterinary Nurse RVN and Cat Advocate

Melissa knew from a young age that she wanted to use her love of animals as a career and thanks to GKG Vets was offered a pathway into nursing. She is now Head Nurse at the Newbury branch.
At home, Melissa has a very bouncy spaniel called Laka who has recently retired from agility training. She also has a mischievous black cat called Moose who she rescued from the practice when he was found in a very sorry state.

Liz Copas
Veterinary Nurse
More about Liz
Liz lives locally with her husband and has two grown up children. At home she has three dogs, two cats (including one with three legs), two ponies, one rabbit and a ferret.
Liz is a fosterer for the local Dogs Trust branch, looking after dogs as they find their forever home. Her experience and patient approach means she can instill basic training and confidence into even the most worried of dogs.

Georgia Pollicott
More about Georgia
She loves big cats and has an interest in conservation. She spent two weeks working on a game reserve in South Africa, volunteering, and plans to do more volunteering in Costa Rica, working with sea turtles!
Georgia lives with her mum, sister; her Hermanns Tortoise called Torty and her 3 cats: Amethyst, Lindsey and Salem. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, travelling and exploring new places and doing anything animal related!

Alex lives in Kingsclere with her husband and son – and two terriers, two ginger cats and two rabbits. In her spare time she enjoys going for walks, gardening, reading and spending time with family and pets.

Greta Cullen

Although Greta has lived for many years in Thatcham, she has also spent time living in Holland and Scotland. She lives with her husband, three dogs and two rabbits. She also has a horse.
Greta enjoys spending her spare time walked her dogs and travelling. She has even cycled through Costa Rica to raise money for charity.

Emily Williams

Emily has been working at GKG vets since October 2019. She graduated from the Royal Agricultural University in 2017 with a Foundation degree in Game and Wildlife Management.
She is currently one of our Newbury Receptionists and has an interest in Veterinary Nursing as a future career.
Emily moved to Newbury from Essex, to live with her boyfriend and their two working dogs; a fox red Labrador called Barley and a Black collie x lab called Jack. They are both full of energy and enjoy swimming in the lake at home!
In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, fishing and helping her boyfriend on their estate; feeding the pheasants, duck and partridge.
